Diaura – black sheep under the shallow sleep Translation

Kanji-Romaji

Translation

When I have superficial dreams* at the arrival of the night

and the feared shadow drifts back and forth,

for some reason to writhe because of the premonition of the ruin

to some extent becomes sweet.

Let’s decorate from the origin of sins

this beautiful, white, soft skin.

For some reason, to writhe because of aesthetics of corruption

to some extent becomes sweet.

Under the moon becoming fuller and fuller,

let’s confess it.

My blood’s black and gold

Hi blood sister “Moonlight”

While not hiding from the look of death…

My blood’s black and gold

Hi blood sister “Moonlight”

Let’s dance hiding our honesty.**

When I have superficial dreams* at the arrival of the night

and the feared shadow drifts back and forth,

for some reason to writhe because of the premonition of the ruin

to some extent becomes sweet.

In the garden of the rotting gods,

let’s confess it.

My blood’s black and gold

Hi blood sister “Moonlight”

While not hiding from the look of death…

My blood’s black and gold

Hi blood sister “Moonlight”

Let’s dance hiding our honesty.**

What is rotting is this world,

that’s what a sinful person taught me.

My blood’s black and gold

The look of death, miss it…

Hi blood sister “Moonlight”

My blood’s black and gold

Hi blood sister “Moonlight”

Let’s dance hiding our honesty.**

This is a superficial dream*.

Notes and Other

Words in Italic are in English in the original lyrics.

*=I think this is a reference to the Iroha poem even though the message of the song is completely opposite to the one of the poem. “To have superficial dreams” means to “have dreams about things we won’t achieve or achieve but soon scatter”: in short words it’s just a loss of time.

**=The word can mean both “honesty” and “face without make up” which may be a reference to the make up used by Visual Kei artist: pretty slick word trick here.

A very deep song from Diaura which, with this song, want to state clearly that humans are just creature capable of loathing in their own sins and dreaming about superficial and fleeting things in a collapsing world even though they know what’s good and what’s bad. They want to describe how they feel: black sheeps, misunderstood by everyone, incapable of following the right path and just dreaming about superficial things.

Or that’s what I think at least…
